New Head Coach for Blackheath

From the beginning of this term we are pleased to announce that our new Head Coach will be Andy PavadayAndyPavaday
Andy is an extremely experienced fencer and coach and is qualified to level 5 (the top level) in coaching for all three weapons. Some of the adult members (including me) have been on his development courses. He also coaches at Brixton Fencing Club, a large and successful club with a long history of developing excellent fencers.
Andy will be coaching both the Musketeers and the adult fencers and will be around from 6:30 to 9:30 on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. This should be great for both the adult and youth fencers as our new head coach will be available for all of our fencing sessions.
This means that the Musketeers gain an additional coach to complement the great work being undertaken by Stephan and Alan and one who has taken junior fencers to the very highest level of the sport including onto the British team.
Andy lives locally, started fencing in Greenwich and was a member of Blackheath club until the mid 90’s.
This is a big step up for the club and especially for our Musketeers where we should see his impact over the coming season. I am sure you will join us in welcoming him to the club. More details about Andy can be found on the Coaches Page
